Sun Yat Sen and the Kuomintang

Chiang Kai-Shek
- Became leader of the Kuomintang in 1925 after Sun Yat Sen died
- Communist, Mao Zedong was leader of propaganda
- Soon controlled all of China south of the Yangste River
- Flee to the country of Formosa (now Taiwan)
- First president of Taiwan
- Rid his party of communists, killed many while others like Mao fled to remote parts of China
Summary
Sun Yat Sen was the first leader of the Kuomintang. They had big troubles finding financial aid due to the fact that they were a socialist nation. They only received aid from the Soviet Union. After Sun Yat Sen died Chiang took over the Kuomintang. He soon had control of China and as his propaganda leader was Mao. Mao was a communist. Chiang eventually rid his party of all communism; therefore, Mao fled, because many members of the CCP were being killed.
