Gustav Stresemann
Gustav Stresemann:
- took over control of Weimar Germany
- Brought in the Retenmark (new currency instead of the mark)
- Paid reparations with the help of Dawes Plan
- Help broker the Dawes plan on the German side
- Became the next chancellor
- Signed the Young Plan
- Not popular because no one thought any reparations should be payed back (especially Hitler supporters)
Summary
When Gustav Stresemann was in control of Weimar Germany he changed the Mark to the Retenmark (currency) to help the Hyper Inflation that as going on. He also paid reparations with the help of the Dawes Plan and he signed the Young plan. Although he did all this good, people were not happy with him because they thought no reparations should be paid at all.
