Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the Muslim League
- Jinnah chosen to administer the Muslim sections of the partition
- In 1947 they decided that they would get independence from Britain and half would become Muslim and half would be Hindu (in India)
- Successful from dividing from Britain, then had to divide from each other
- Worked toward unity
- Eventually forms the Muslim League asking for separate country (Pakistan movement)
- Two countries called Pakistan West (Pakistan) and Pakistan East (Bangladesh)
- Seen as a hero in the Muslim world
- Death on Sept. 11 celebrated as national holiday in Pakistan
