Herbert Hoover and Hoovervilles
- Free Enterprise (government stayed out of businesses, didn't bail out the weak businesses, just let them fail), didn' work in this instance
- Introduces socialist measures (needed to help the people, brought in benefits)
- People unhappy "Hoovervilles" (places for people to live)
- Replaced by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1932 election
Summary
People were very unhappy with Herbert Hoover who was the president during this time of the depression and didn't like the way he was handling the situation. To show they were unhappy they named the slums that people lived in, Hoovervilles, to show that their blame laid on him.
